Using Google Meet Live Stream

If you are a G Suite school, then Google Meets have probably been the newest and most used tool of 2020! However, if you are looking to have a large number of attendees where most of them are only viewers (and not participating), there is a feature I urge you to consider- Live Stream. The most commonly used example is for whole school assemblies.


Benefits of Live Stream over regular Meets:

  • no need to worry about microphones not being muted

  • no need to have distracting and/or inappropriate chat in the sidebar

  • viewers aren't distracted by the many other video tiles of attendees filling their screen

  • decreased need for bandwidth
